History was made in October! After months of waiting, the intersection of Clove Road & Castleton Avenue in Staten Island, New York (Location of the World Hombu Dojo from 1966 through 1998) is now & forever recognized as:

GRANDMASTER PETER SIRINGANO SR. SQUARE

The dedication ceremony took place on Saturday, October 11th, 1997 at 11a.m. and was followed by the unveiling of two street signs bearing the name. Hanshi Siringano gave a moving and emotional speech, recalling the many memorable moments of his father's life.

O'Donovan (Prime sponsor of the bill to name the intersection), Staten Island & Brooklyn Assemblyman Eric Vitaliano, Dr. Guido DiBenedetto (Chairman: Doctors Hospital and Siringano family physician for over 30 years), all of whom provided moving remembrances of their dear departed friend.

Members of the Siringano Family; sisters Rose Barbato, Carmella Ferrara and brother Anthony Siringano were in attendance accompanied by their respective families. Hanshi Wilfredo Roldan,   Master Don Vitale and over 75 Black Belts, students and friends of the late Grandmaster were also in attendance. Special thanks to John Guzzo.
